We Are Back June 8, 2020

Greetings from Provincetown! We are hoping all of you are staying healthy and safe during this incredibly challenging time.

We wanted to let you know we are entering Phase 2 of the reopening of Massachusetts and that means the Somerset House Inn will be reopening on June 8, 2020. Along with the Somerset House Inn opening you will see retail stores, galleries and outdoor seating at restaurants opening too. All of these will have limitations on occupancy. There will be a part 2 to Phase 2 that will include inside dining at restaurants.

Somerset House Inn has the health and safety of our visitors, staff and residents top of mind. Bob has spent extra time with each of the staff members on increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols for the guestrooms and we have developed a checklist for disinfecting the common areas too. We have always been very proud of the cleaning job our staff has done and this year will be no different. They are ready to make your stay a memorable and safe one. The most challenging part of the reopening has been developing a safe and efficient way to serve breakfast. Dan created a menu that we will utilize on a daily basis. For the most part we hope to serve breakfast to you on the first floor but you will always have the option to have breakfast delivered to your room. We will still ask guests to adhere to social/physical distancing and to wear face coverings or masks but acknowledge that while eating or drinking this is impossible. We ask that all guests be conscientious when moving through the common areas wearing face coverings or masks while passing other guests especially during breakfast hours. We have removed some seating from all areas of the inn creating social distancing seating.

The Town of Provincetown is continuing to come up with creative ways to make your visit better. We currently have Commercial Street closed to vehicular traffic (except emergency) from Standish Street west to Court Street Thursday-Sunday from 6 PM-10 PM. This is an effort to create more space for visitors to maintain social distancing. The town is also going to be adding hand washing stations along with hand sanitizing stations throughout town. With many restaurants only able to sell take out the town will also be adding tables and seating to some of the town’s properties to give folks a place to eat. There is one important rule that everyone needs to be aware of and that is a mandatory face covering/mask order that is in effect daily while on Commercial Street from 9 AM-9 PM from Bangs Street west to Pleasant Street. Many of these orders will be evaluated as the season progresses and any order can be changed at any time so we will try to keep you up to date.

We are looking forward to your return and hope to see you soon.

Our best,

Bob, Dan, Bizzo, Rob & Pat
